Lucy Edwards / Stronger Than ALGS

My name is Lucy and I'm 32 years old. I’m a mum to a beautiful son and have been a care giver from a young age to my brother and sister. My sister has Alagille Syndrome and is a true fighter still at the age of 26. My younger brother and my mother passed away due to complications of Alagille syndrome. Our family has been flipped upside down multiple times due to Alagille syndrome especially when our mother passed away in 2022. I was a young mother taking care of my son and being my family’s carer giver I would visit regularly. After my mother’s passing I suddenly became a full time carer for both of my adult siblings with complicated medical backgrounds. Our lives have completely changed. In a short space of time I have had to learn in depth about Alagille syndrome and take on the responsibility of incredibly hard decisions and advocate on my sister's behalf. Something I never imagined I would be able to take on. The cases differ so much within my family. It has been a very emotional role coaster adjusting to this new life as a single handed caregiver to so many, with tremendous responsibility beyond myself and my son while still grieving the sudden loss of my mother. Alagille syndrome has pulled my family together and apart in many various ways and times throughout our lives so far so this time I want to share some appreciation through fundraising for this amazing charity

About Angels and fighters

I've created this fundraiser with a goal to donate in memory of our mother, our lost family members and also my sister who is here still fighting hard through life and to give back to the community. Not only this but to support the family programming that has greatly helped our family. From phone calls and emails, to transportation support, emotional support, and financial support, the ALGSA has helped us through very trying times. Whether it's $1.00 or $100, every dollar helps families in need. Please donate today. This charity is USA based but they help and operate towards people with ALGS around the whole world please help if you can ❤️
